In 1962, Maruhachi Shinpen Co., Ltd. was established in its birthplace, present-day Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, as Maruhachi Textile Bedding Division. In 1969, the company name was changed to Maruhachi Shinmen Co. In 1977, the company began TV commercials featuring Daigoro Takamiyama, which became a hot topic. Expanded business mainly through door-to-door sales of down futons, wool futons, beds, and other bedding products.
