Daikin, founded in 1924 in Japan, initially known as Osaka Kinzoku, began its development in the air conditioning industry in the 1930s. In 1963, it officially changed its name to "Daikin Industries, Ltd." It is the only multinational enterprise in the world that integrates research, development, manufacturing, and sales of air conditioning, refrigerants, and compressors. According to the global air conditioning industry survey report published by research firm Freedonia, in 2015, Daikin's air conditioning sales reached the top globally, officially making it the world leader, transitioning from being a leader in Japan to being a leader on the global stage.
